These are copies of documents related to the civil war pension of Elcana Jester, husband of Rebecca (Smitherman) Jester and the subsequent reimbursement request by her daughter Mary Frances (Jester) Dyar .  Rebecca was the daughter of Andrew Smitherman and Lucinda P Carr.  Elcana died of pneumonia at Washington Park Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 6, 1863.  I have over 60 documents related to this but am only featuring a few here.
