Adam R Smitherman Sr., 26, died Tuesday (April 6, 1999) at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mineral Springs United Methodist Church, with burial in Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews.

Born May 18, 1972 in Forsyth County, he was a son of Danny Ross Smitherman and Patricia Ann Rape Busse.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Shelley Darlene Smitherman of the home; one son, Adam Ross Smitherman Jr. of the home; one daughter, Kirsten Ann Smitherman of the home; a stepfather, Gary Busse of Monroe; a stepmother, Fran Smitherman of Mineral Springs; two brothers, Joshua Smitherman of Mineral Springs, Jon Busse of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Krystina Koehler of Mineral Springs, Karen Koehler of Charlotte, Julie Busse of Rochester, Minn.; maternal grandparents, Bunk and Virginia Rape of Yadkinville, and paternal grandparents, Donald and Dale Smitherman of East Bend.

Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe.
