Annedore Smitherman, 78, a
resident of the Portland community, died Thursday afternoon, May 9,
2019 at the FRT Adult Foster Care Home in Hillsboro.
Private Cremation Rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove.
ANNEDORE SMITHERMAN was born July 4, 1940 in Germany, the daughter of the late Jakob and Ella Winterling. She was raised and received her education in Germany having graduated Class of 1958.
She was united in marriage to Robert Lafayette Smitherman on April 22, 1960 in Basel, Switzerland. They celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary this past April. Following their marriage they resided in the community of Tigard, Oregon. They later moved to the Portland community, where they have resided since.
Annedore worked as a Supervisor at Techtronic for 24 years.
Among her special interests, she enjoyed shopping at Washington Square Mall with her friends, finding the best bargains, and going to dinners with her husband.
Annedore was preceded in death by her parents, Jakob and Ella Winterling, and by her sister Margaret.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Smitherman, of the family home in Portland, Oregon
