Betty lou (duncan) smitherman
Betty Lou Smitherman, age 85, of Prattville, Alabama passed away on Wednesday May 30, 2018. Betty was born February 18, 1933.Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband, James David Smitherman, Sr. her son, James "David" Smitherman, Jr. , her parent's, Ulton and Ada Duncan, along with her brother, Clarence "Shrimp" Duncan, and sister, Dorothy O'Neal. Betty was survived by her children, Tim Smitherman, Randy Smitherman, Gordon Smitherman, and Clarence Smitherman, five grandchildren, Shaun (Krystal) Smitherman, Stefanie (Chad) Underwood, Mackenzie Smitherman, James David Smitherman III, and Justin Smitherman, three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Ella Kate, and Analee Underwood, along with her sister, Julia Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty loved to be active and stay involved. She enjoyed growing flowers, gospel signing and planning her high school class reunions. Betty Lou Smitherman was loved by many and will be missed by all.
A visitation for Betty will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 138 South Washington Street, Prattville, AL 36067. A funeral service will occur Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 1:00 PM. A burial will occur at Durden Cemetery located in Prattville, AL.
