Beulah Irene Smitherman, 91, of the Happy Valley Community, passed away July 6, 2014, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born Nov. 15, 1922, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Draper Camden Wine and Rosa Rawson Wine.

Beulah was of the Baptist Faith and had been an employee of Misty Manufacturing. She enjoyed traveling, camping and NASCAR. Her and her late husband, Earl, spent their winter months in Brownsville, Texas, for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Butch (Nancy) Brandt of Vincent, Ohio, and Charles (Melanie) Brandt of Marietta; a daughter, Sue (Tom) Eden of Vienna; three step-sons, Bobby R. (Janet) Smitherman of Gastonia, N.C., Michael D. (Karen) Smitherman of Wirtz, Va., and Joseph Mark (Kelta) Smitherman of Belleville; 21 grandchilden; and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Garnet Clark of Belpre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Brandt; her second husband, Earl Raymond Smitherman; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Sams and Marie Holcomb.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street, Parkersburg. The visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, and an hour prior to the service on Thursday, July 10, at the funeral home.
