Mrs.
Bobbie Owens Smitherman, age 83, of Brent, AL went home to be with her
Heavenly Father on January 22, 2019. She was born July 9, 1935 to John
Henry Wesley Floyd Owens and Pearlie Odell Owens. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles Smitherman of Brent, AL; her son, Mike Smitherman(Paula) of Brent, AL; her daughters, Debbie Holden(Wesley) of Hobe Sound, FL and Myra Smitherman of Brent, AL; her five grandchildren, Jennifer Downs (Drew) of Centreville, AL; Charles Holden (Kristen) of Indianapolis, IN; Laura Smitherman of Brent, AL; Bethany Plummer (Trevor) of St. Cloud, MN; and Katelyn Siverling (Robert) of Clay, AL. In addition, she had 10 great-grandchildren, Jordan, John Michael, Jennae, Julianne, Joelle, Abbie Grace, Abigail, Emma Grace, Jax and Colton; sisters, Glaudine Belcher and Carolyn Williams both of Centreville, AL; nieces and nephews, Bill and John Belcher (Dedra), Carmen Uber (Gary) and Tony Williams (Sharron).
Bobbie was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a life-long member of Brent Bible Methodist Church. She spent much of her time helping meet the needs of others. She enjoyed children immensely and babysat many in the community and other areas. Bobbie loved to cook and shared her cooking with friends and family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on January 25, 2019 at Brent Bible Methodist Church. Family will receive visitors from 9:30 – 11:00 AM. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00. Immediately following, graveside services will take place at Friendship Cemetery. Rev. Wesley Holden will officiate. Pallbearers include Josh Williams, Drew Williams, Drew Downs, John Michael Downs, Jordan Holden, Charles Holden, Robert Gay, Gary Uber and Tony Williams. Honorary pallbearers, include her church family-Brent Bible Methodist Church; Dr. Laura Hyer and Bibb Medical Center Staff.
