SMITHERMAN,
BOBBY LAMAR age 80, of Hueytown, AL, passed away Thursday, June 7,
2012. Mr. Smitherman was a member of Hueytown Baptist Church. He
retired from U.S. Steel with 31 years of service and was a veteran of
the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean War. He was a loving husband,
father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori
Killingsworth. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan
Hosmer Smitherman; his son, Lee (Krista) Smitherman; his daughters,
Carol Smitherman and Beth (Wayne) McMurry; his grandchildren, Melisa
Saccucci, Sharon Edmondson, Chad and Brent Alexander; six great
grandchildren, and his sister, Ann (Morgan) Salter. Funeral services
will be held at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home Saturday, June 9,
2012 at 2:00 p.m. with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation
will be held one hour prior to the service
