FLAT - Ulis Bodie David Smitherman, 75, died
Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Jan.
13, 1933, in Toccopola to David Monroe Smitherman and Cora Lee
Winter Smitherman. He was
a retired truck driver for Watkins Shepard and MS Carriers. He was a member of
Neely Baptist Church in New Albany where he was previously a Sunday school
teacher.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at United Funeral Service Chapel in New Albany with Bro. Kenny Adair and Bro. Jason Pilcher officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest in Holly Springs. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Smitherman of Hickory Flat; three sons, Mark Smitherman (Susie) of Little Rock, Ark., Dwayne Derrick (Virginia) and Jeff Derrick both of New Albany; one sister, Christine Loraine Smitherman Phillips of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Louise Victor Smitherman.
Pallbearers will be Billy Montgomery, Christopher Derrick, Sammy Taylor, Cody Johnson, Dylan Derrick, Dwayne Derrick and Jeff Derrick.
