Belle Smitherman Jenkins, 69, of
Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Forsyth
Medical
Center.
She was born Aug. 29, 1931, to Foy Everett and Rose Schrafel Smitherman in Grundy County, Iowa
Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Advent Moravian Church and was a graduate of Boonville High School.
Preceding her in death is a brother, Robert Smitherman. Surviving are her husband, Bill Grey Jenkins of the home; a daughter, Roberta Jo "Bobbie" Jenkins; two sons, Randall Grey Jenkins and Billy Wayne Jenkins all of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Bill Smitherman and wife Sharon of Mount Jackson, Va. and Bud Smitherman and wife Nita of Winston-Salem. The family would like to thank the staff friends at Piedmont Dialysis Center.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2001, at Advent Moravian Church by the Rev. Tripp May and the Rev. H.O. Jenkins. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Advent Moravian Church Building Fund, 1514 W.Clemmonsville Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
