Cecil Brooks Smitherman, of
Westland, passed away Tuesday, June 2, at the age of 82. Cecil
was born in Pontotoc, Mississippi on September 16, 1926.
Beloved husband of Earline Baker Smitherman, he is also survived by his daughters, Janet (Danny) Dennis and Debra (James) Thompson; son, Danny (Paulette) Smitherman; brothers, Elton Smitherman and Harold Smitherman; sister Josephine Jaggers and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Verdie and Charlesley Smitherman and grandson, Christian Smitherman.
He worked for 31 years at GM and 20 years at Northside Hardware. He was a good Christian family man who loved the outdoors.
Visitation hours are 1-4pm and 5-9pm Thursday. Burial will be at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West with Uht Funeral Home providing the services and Rev. Allen Lawson officiating.
