Cecil Otis Smitherman, 88, of Clanton died Sunday, Aug. 24 at his
residence.
He was born Monday, Dec. 1, 1919, in Bibb County, son of the late Abner Smitherman and the late Bertha Chism Smitherman. He was retired from Montgomery and Prattville Housing Authority.
Survivors include his wife, Edna E. Smitherman of Clanton; sons, Larry Smitherman of Orlando, Fla., Gary Smitherman of Clanton; daughters, Linda Jackson of Polk City, Fla., Wanda Huntsberger of Clanton; brothers, Elvin Smitherman and Doyle Smitherman; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services will be held today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Parks and the Rev. Don Vanderslice officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens.
The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to EMI, P.O. Drawer 550, Thorsby, AL 35171.
