clarence harold smitherman 

Clarence Harold Smitherman passed away in Dallas at the age of 82 on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2017. He will be remembered at a graveside service in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, in Dallas at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, with Rev. Karl Travis officiating.

Harold was born in Roswell, NM, on Dec. 17, 1934, to Bowmer and Eunice Smitherman. Harold grew up in Lubbock with his seven siblings. He joined the U.S. Army in 1954 during the Korean War, and served honorably through his discharge in 1963. Following his military service, Harold owned and operated restaurants for many years in the panhandle of Texas.

Survivors include his three daughters, Leigh Jones and husband, Cliff of Silver City, NM, Linda Henry and husband, Wes of Canyon, Loretta Smitherman of Carrollton, and one son, Shannon Smitherman and wife, Tanya of Carrollton. Harold loved and is survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, his wife, JoAnn (Jody) Rogers, and great-grandson, Carlos.
