Collins Smitherman April 21, 1952 - Feb. 17, 2013 Mrs. Connie Lee
Collins Smitherman, 60, of Dobson passed away on Sunday, February 17,
2013 at Forsyth Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in
Rockingham County on April 21, 1952 to the late Clarence Harvey and
Betty Griffin Collins. Mrs. Smitherman was a dedicated homemaker and a
member of The Rock Church in King. She leaves to cherish her memory her
loving husband of 41 years, Kimber Grant Smitherman, of the home; two
daughters, Jennifer "JJ" and husband Asael Murillo and Tabbetha
Kendrick all of Houston, Texas; eleven beloved grandchildren, including
her special "baby girl" Kendall Leigh Oakley; a sister, Deborah Kay
Collins of Watertown, TN; a brother, Tony and wife Geri Collins of San
Antonio, TX and several special nieces and nephews. A service to
celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 24,
2013 at The Rock Church in King by Pastor Aaron Butler. The family will
receive friends on Tuesday, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Moody-Davis
Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
Our Fathers Table, c/o The Rock Church, P.O. Box 469, King, N.C. 27021,
an organization, to which she gave her heart, to feed the elderly and
