| JONESVILLE - Danny Ross Smitherman, 59, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born April 4, 1949 in Forsyth County to the late Donald and Olive Smitherman. Danny enjoyed working with nature, his animals and especially his cattle. He was a simple, caring, and loving father and husband. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Adam Ross Smitherman. Surviving are his wife, Fran Smitherman; children, Josh Smitherman, Karen (Dino) Chiappini, Krystina Koehler; grandson, Foxx Chiappini; sister, Wanda Kay (Tim) Burgess; brother, Rick (Barbara) Smitherman; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Candy Shumate. His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Gentry Family Chapel. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Church Building Fund in care of Danny Smitherman, Southern Community Bank, 503 Winston Rd., Jonesville, NC 28642.
