B. Smitherman, prominent retired farmer of Antioch, six miles from
Centerville, in Bibb County was buried Sunday afternoon at the Antioch
Baptist Church with the Rev. R.Z. Wooley of the Columbiana Baptist
Church officiating. Fosters Funeral Home directed interment in
the church cemetery. Mr Smitherman, who was 79 years old, died
suddenly Saturday night at his home.
He is survived by his widow, four sons, Burl, Vernon P., and R.C. Smitherman of Centerville and Lowell C Smitherrman of Tuscaloosa; and four daughters, Mrs. N.H. Langston of Randolph, Mrs. O.C. Narramore, Mrs. R.E. Narramore and Mrs. J.F. McCrary of Centerville, three brothers, Walter Smitherman of Wilton, Cas Smitherman of Mobile and Stanley Smitherman of Centerville, and three sisters, Mrs. D.W. Horn of Centerville, Mrs W.N. Lawrence of Randolph....(the rest was ineligible)
