Funeral
services for Dollie Mae Popwell, 90, of Clanton, are today, April 22,
1998 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Shirley
officiating. Burial is in Lime Springs Methodist Cemetery in
Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Popwell was born
March 30, 1908, in Alabama to the late Jess and Lutishia
Smitherman. She was a homemaker. She died April 20, 1998,
at Shelby Medical Center in Alabaster. She is survived by four
daughters, Lula Bowden of Birmingham, and Peggy Ellison, Myra Popwell
and June Traywick, all of Clanton; two sons: Gene A. Popwell and
Jerry Popwell, both of Clanton; 16 grandchildren, 44
great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
