(WOODLAND) Services for Dorothy A. Smitherman, 75, of Woodland were at 3 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bobby Kirby and Chris
Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Smitherman died Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Wedowee Hospital.
She was born in Randolph County on June 17, 1925, daughter of Tom and Velma
Dewberry Gosdin. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Smitherman of Woodland; two daughters, Syble
Rogers of Woodland and Betty Pool of Roanoke; a sister, Kathleen Ray of Wedowee;
four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be floral or donations can be made to the Calvary Baptist Church,
Fellowship Hall Building Fund, 2348 County Road 333, Wedowee, AL 36278.
Pallbearers were Randy Akins, Barry Johnson, Jerry Walker, Blair Parker, Doris Akins
and Roy Traylor.
Arrangements were by Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee.
