E. G. "Smut" Smitherman, Jr.,
76, a resident of Montgomery died Friday, February 6, 2004, after a
courageous fight with cancer. Funeral services were Monday, February 9,
2004, at 2 p.m. at Leak Memory Chapel with Dr. Jay Wolfe officiating.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Smitherman is preceded in death
by his parents, E. G. Smitherman, Sr. and Saydee Hicks Smitherman and
one sister, Betty Ann Crisswell all of Montevallo. He is survived by
his wife of 46, years, Sue Beasley Smitherman, one son, R. Todd (Terri)
Smitherman, one daughter, Pamela Sue Smitherman (Jason) Hallford, two
nephews, Mark Crisswell of Montevallo and Troy (Becky) Crisswell, and
one niece, Alyssa Crisswell all of Calera, three granddaughters, Ashley
Claire Hallford of Montgomery, Erica Lynn Smitherman..
