Elvin Ray Brown, age 78, of Richmond, Va., widower of Dorothy Smitherman Brown, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2003. He is survived by his son, Barry Brown of Glen Allen, Va.; two brothers, Jerrel Brown and Cletus Brown; two sisters, Mae Hopper and Billie Ramsey, all of Searcy, Ark. Mr. Brown retired from the Eastern Shore Railroad in March 1987 and was a member of Grove Ave. Baptist Church and Westhampton Masonic Lodge #302 AF & AM. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park (Mausoleum). Westhampton Lodge #302 will hold Masonic graveside rites at the cemetery.
