ethel zula (smitherman) crabtree
Born December 10, 1926, Ethel
went home to be with her Precious Lord on May 20, 2009. She was raised
in McCalla, Alabama and was the daughter of James H. and Mayme
Smitherman. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Sue Brocato and
Peg Crawford; her son, Dallis Norris; and her granddaughter, Michelle
Norris.
Mrs. Crabtree is survived by her husband, Richard L. Crabtree; daughters, Charlete Jean Norris and Bridgette Joella Irelan; sons, Neal Caldwell, Harvey Caldwell, and Forrest Caldwell. Grandchildren, Vincent Ray Stanbro, Jr., Derek Norris, Casey Ireland, Mayme Ireland, Darrin Caldwell, Lindsey Caldwell and Reagan Caldwell. Her great grandchildren, Vincent Ray Stanbro III, Kayla Caldwell, and Catalina Casillas. She is also survived by her sisters, Frances Belcher, Ira Higginbotham, Anne Woods, Mayme Roy (Wayne), and Barbara Gentry (Frank), and all of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed deeply by those she touched in her eighty two years on this earth.
A Memorial Service will be held to honor her life on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 5 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Alabama. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
