Mrs Evelyn Eugenia Smitherman, age 83 of Jonesboro, Louisiana passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012.
Mrs. Smitherman was sales clerk in retail for many years. She was a member of the Center Point Baptist church in Jonesboro. She attened the South Side Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
Mrs. Smitherman was preceded in death by her husband, James Hoye Smitherman, Father, Ray Runyon, Mother, Elizabeth Borland Runyon, 3 Brothers, Henry Runyon, Roy Runyon, Walter Runyon, 4 Sisters, Katie Smedley, Florence Seio, Pansy Sarver, Dorothy McDaniels.
Those left to cherish her memory include her step son Ronnie Smitherman and wife Paula of Denison, Texas Step daughter: Shelia Treadway and husband David of saline, Louisiana 7 Step grandchildern 4 step great grandchildern, numerous neices, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 5-8 PM and again on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 8:00 AM until time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Southern Funeral Home with Bro. Wesley Carroll Venable, and Bro. Joey Bigner officiating. Internment will follow in the Garden of Memories in Jonesboro under the direction Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
A special thanks to Dr. Rainwater and his staff, and also would like to thank the staff at the Forest Haven Nursing Home for their care of Mrs. Smitherman.
