frank smitherman jr
Frank Smitherman Jr., 82, a long
standing resident of Neptune Beach, FL passed away Nov. 30, 2009 after
an extended illness. He was born March 31, 1927 in Selma, Alabama. He
served our country in the U.S. Navy and retired after 25 years. Frank
then worked at Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville as the purchasing
director and retired after 23 years.
Frank is survived by his sons: James (Pat) Smitherman, Frank (Bonnie) Smitherman, Jr. John (Jessica) Smitherman; daughters Bernice Smitherman and Linda Smitherman; sister, Norma Jean Cobb; brother, Howard Joe Smitherman; grandchildren, James, Gail, Blair, Steven and Stephanie. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Marie Smitherman.
Frank will be missed by neighbors, friends and family and his constant companion – Honeybear.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5th in Quinn Shalz Family Funeral Home. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5th in Beaches Memorial Park Cemetery with the Reverend Clifton Cobb officiating.
