Bell Smitherman, 81, Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec 31, 2001 at
Houston National Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Eisenberg officiating,
under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler.
Mrs. Smitherman died Dec. 27, 2001, in a local nursing home.
She was born Oct 23, 1920, in Neches. She lived in Tyler since 1995, moving from Dallas. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester L Smitherman, and parents, James and Sarah Bell.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Chester and Margie Smitherman of Houston, Tom and Ann Smitherman of Grand Prairie; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Floyd Dixon of Tyler; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Martha Bell of Tyler; sisters, Alice White of Whitehouse, Lou Taylor of Tyler; grandchildren, Andy Dixon, Greg Dixon, Patrick Smitherman, Jeffrey Smitherman, Elizabeth Smitherman and Rick Smitherman; great=grandson, Jeffrey Joshua Smitherman; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
