EAST BEND - Mrs. Freida
Binkley Ellis, 75, passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005,
at Rose Tara Assisted Living in King. She was born in Yadkin County on
Sept.
19, 1929, to John T. and Sallie Ann Smitherman Binkley. She was a
lifelong
member of Baltimore United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ellis had worked for
Export
Leaf Tobacco Co., Hunter Publishing Co. and Winston Printing Co. She
loved her
family and her church family. Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her
parents;
14 aunts and uncles; brothers and sisters; and dozens of cousins.
Surviving are
her husband of 52 years, Edwin L. Ellis Sr. of the home; her sons,
Edwin L
(Robin S.) Ellis Jr. of Kingsport, Tenn. and Kenneth (Karen) Ellis of
East
Bend; and two grandsons, Curtis and Charlie Ellis of East Bend. The
funeral
service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Baltimore
United
Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Stratas and the Rev. Matthew
Farabow
officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 to lie in
state.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive
friends from
7 to 9 this evening, Jan. 31, at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend. A very
special
thank you to the staff of Rose Tara for their loving care and to a
special
friend, Bettie Needham, and to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter
of
Winston-Salem. Memorials may be made to the Baltimore United Methodist
