A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 27, at the Mountain View Baptist Church in Cut Bank. Whitted Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Feb. 19, 1954 at Shelby to Dalton and Margaret (Seymour) Smitherman.
George had worked as an oil field pumper, electrician, plumber and carpenter, as well as a drug and alcohol counselor.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Montana (Hobbick) Smitherman of Cut Bank; daughter, Linda Sanchez; sons, Greg Smitherman and George Smitherman Jr.; mother, Marga-ret Smitherman of Cut Bank; five grandchildren, Alex and Gabe Sanchez, Sebastian, Kaytlin, Morgan and Christian Smitherman, and Lillian Denise and Kammi Smitherman.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dalton Smitherman; ex-wife, Denise Perrine; and aunt, Lorraine Seymour.
