Gordon L. McWilliams, 72, of
Hearne passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008, after a yearlong bout with
cancer and was called home to be with our Lord.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at First Baptist Church in Hearne. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne.
Gordon was a member of First Baptist Church in Hearne. He retired from Texas A&M University after serving 26 years and retiring from the United States Air Force. He was also an avid outdoor sportsman. Mr. McWilliams was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal of Master Sergeant and earned the Meritorious Service Medal, "Master Sergeant."
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra McWilliams, in 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo Marie McWilliams; sons, Brian Keith McWilliams and Chance and Amanda McWilliams; daughter, Marla and Robert Barnett; brother, Keith McWilliams; sisters, Jean Matejka and June Reed; stepchildren, Daina and Doug Dupler, Lavon Honea and Steve Honea.
