Henry Hardy smitherman
Henry H. "Hardy" Smitherman, 73,
of Lodi, CA, died recently at his residence. Mr. Smitherman was a
native of Jonesboro and lived in Stockton, CA for seven years before
moving to Lodi seven years ago.
Mr. Smitherman was a truck driver for 40 years and was a member of Teamsters Local 982 in Lancaster. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion of Cloverdale, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also belonged to Sports Boosters of Rosamond and the Over 55 Bowling Club in Stockton.
He was married for 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Louise Smitherman of Lodi; children, Steve Smitherman of Liverpool, PA, Jon Smitherman of Vancouver, WA, and Lisa Balash of Galt, CA; siblings, Hoye Smitherman of Jonesboro, Hazel Clanton of Stephens, AR, Erlean Woodard of Springhill, and Lois Price of Bend, OR, and nine grandchildren.
