Funeral services for Herbie C.
Smitherman, 85, 707 25th Ave. E., who died Wednesday [20 June 1979] at
Veterans Hospital in Birmingham, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the
chapel of Sunset Funeral Home. The Rev. Sammie Bell will officiate with
burial in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park and Sunset Funeral Home directing.
He is survived by five sons, Lee Smitherman, Jack Smitherman, and Adolph Smitherman, all of Tuscaloosa, Nolen Smitherman, Jemison, and Earl Smitherman, San Francisco [Calif.]; a daughter, Mrs. Wilda Parsons, Tuscaloosa; 17 grandchildren and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Smitherman, Floyd Smitherman, Jackie Smitherman, Sammy Smitherman, Mike Miller, and Joe Cook.
