Smitherman Stephens, age 82, of Vance, died at home on October 15,
2015. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Tuscaloosa
Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Clary, Rev. David Gill and Rev. Dan
Wiggins officiating and Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel directing. Burial
will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday,
October 18, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.She was
preceded in death by her husband, William H. ""Buddy""
Stephens.Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Wiggins (Dan), Sandy
Jordan (Johnny), Terry Byrne (Richard) and Joann Gill (David); son,
Bill Stephens (Bonnie); sisters, Anne Slaton and Pat Smitherman;
brothers, Sam Smitherman and Bobby Smitherman (Mary); grandchildren,
Karl Wiggins (Leslie), Matt Wiggins (Tammy), Lyn Glass (Derek), Parker
Moye (Kerri), Chase Moye, Rick Byrne (Emily), Courtney Jordan,
Catherine Whidby (Ryan), Mary-Elizabeth Gill Atkins (Brad), Brown,
Dollie and Stephen Goldon, Hamilton, Chandler and Maggie-Mae Gill,
Audrey and Laura Stephens; and 18 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will
be her grandsons.Honorary pallbearers are Evergreen, Skyland and Valley
View Baptist Churches and First Baptist Church of Theodore.
