James C. Smitherman, 82, of Clanton died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Tuesday, December 10, 1929 in Chilton Co., AL, Son of the late Arthur Smitherman and the late Lee Ora Baker Smitherman.
He was a Frame Mechanic.
Surviving are his Wife, Geraldine Smitherman of Clanton, AL; Daughters, Nita (David) Summerlin of Selma, AL, Gina (Randy) LeCroy of Clanton, AL, Lisa (Jason) Paris of Wetumpka, AL; Son, Eddie Bray of Clanton, AL; Step-sons, Joe (Carol) Dedman of Clanton, AL, Greg (Merry) Kelley of Clanton, AL; Step-daughters, Brenda (Buddy) Green of Clanton, AL, Linda Mims of Clanton, AL, Angie (Bobby) Driver of Clanton, AL; Brother, Joel (Janice) Smitherman of Clanton, AL; Sister, Carolyn (Leo) Kelley of Clanton, AL; 22 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Arthur & Lee Ora Smitherman, Daughter, Sheila Smitherman and Brother, A.J. Smitherman.
Friends will be received from 5-8, Monday, November 5, 2012 @ Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at New Harmony Holiness Church with Rev. Teddy Chadwick and Rev. Kenny Coburn officiating.
Interment will follow in New Harmony Holiness Cemetery.
