Joseph Albert Cothran, age 83, of 3501 Apple Orchard Road died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in the Laurens County Hospital.He was born in Wilkes County, GA and was the son of the late Lester and Mamie Lou Davis Cothran.
Mr. Cothran was a retired employee of Clinton Mills, was a member of the Elizabeth St. Church of God and was a W.W. II U.S. Army veteran. He loved his church and church family.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy Loraine Smitherman Cothran of the home; a son, James Robert Cothran of Clinton; three daughters, Loraine Rogers, Edna Campbell and Norma Strickland all of Clinton; a brother, Alvin J. Cothran of Eloree; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Elizabeth St. Church of God with interment at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Loraine Rogers, 3530 Apple Orchard Road.
