Funeral services for Joseph
Smitherman, 96 years old, were held at the Sunshine mission yesterday
afternoon with the Rev. William Kelley in charge. Burial was in
Fairview cemetery. Mr. Smitherman died at 4 o'clock yesterday
morning at his home on North Main street, following a five-year
illness. He had lived in this district 20 years and was a member
of the Sunshine mission.
Surviving are a brother, Spencer Smitherman, at home, and a sister, Mrs. J.O. Drake of Raymond, Ill. The body was received by the Hurlbut Undertaking Company.
