Funeral services for Lee Ora
Smitherman Pierce, 85, of Clanton, were heldon Friday, June 27, at the
New Harmony Holiness Church in Clanton at 2 p.m. with the
ReverendsPerry Cleckler and Roger Moates officiating. Burial was
held at the New Harmony Holiness Cemetery with the Martin Funeral Home
directing. Mrs. Pierce was born in Chilton County on October 25, 1911
to the late John Baker and Luraine Franklin Baker. She died
at the Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Clanton on June 25,
1997. She is survived by her husband, Reynolds Pierce, Clanton;
three sons and a daughter, Cecil Smitherman, Joel L. Smitherman, A. J.
Smitherman and Carolyn Hathcock, all of Clanton; 15 grandchildren and14
great-grandchildren.
