into rest on August 23, 2006 at Burke Medical Center, Mrs. Lewis Helen
Smitherman, 82, wife of the late Mr. R.S. Smitherman. A memorial
service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at her old
home site at Modoc Shores, S.C. Mrs. Smitherman was born in Augusta.
She served three years in the U.S. Army as a WAC. She moved to Modoc
Shores where she spent the later years of her life by the lake. She is
survived by a son, Frank Farris and wife, Yvonne of Hephzibah; three
grandchildren, Frank "Toby" Farris, III, Rupert Farris and Scott
Farris; five grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a nephew,
Rick Weathersbee. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to
