HAVILAND – Lida Kendall Smitherman, 90, died Dec. 28 1982, at Kiowa Conty Memorial Hospital, Greensburg.  Born Lida Kendall,  May 21, 1892, at Plainfield, Ind., she married David F. Smitherman Aug 12, 1914, at Haviland.  He died Oct. 22, 1960.  She had been a Haviland resident since 1901.

She was a member of Haviland Friends Church and Friends Bible College Auxiliary, both of Haviland.

Survivors:  sons, Charlton K., Greenleaf, Idaho; David Jr., Haviland; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church; the Revs. Gary Wright and Roscoe Townsend.  Burial at Haviland Cemetery  Friends may call from 4 until 9 p.m. Thursday at Fleener Chapel, Greensburg.  Memorials to the church, bible college or Greenleaf Friends Academy, Greenleaf, Idaho.
