Lillie Viola Smitherman, age
101, of Killen, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at
Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home in Florence, Ala., after a brief
illness.
Miss Smitherman was a native of Lauderdale County, Ala., a homemaker and a member of Hickory Flatt Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Hickory Flatt Freewill Baptist Church. Jerry Coker will be officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flatt Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Hickory Flatt Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Hughey and Chestena Belew Smitherman; five brothers, Johnny, Percy, Ben, William and James Smitherman; six sisters, Vernon Snoddy, Bessie, Tellia, Jessie, Tessie and Lois Smitherman.
Pallbearers will be Keith and Randy Smitherman, David Snoddy, James Cosby, Bobby Smith and Patrick D. Ingrum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arnold G. Holden and Arnold Goodwin.
Loretto Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
