MOORES BRIDGE Linda Carol Smitherman Edmonds, age 66, of Moores Bridge, died Feb. 14, 2012, at home in the care of Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Montgomery and Bro. Scott Montgomery officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sermon on the Mount Mausoleum at Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Willie Bell Smitherman; her brothers, Jerry Lee Smitherman and Billy Don Smitherman; and her great-grandson, Christian Drake Sanders.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas Edmonds; her daughter, Dana Edmonds Newman (Tony); her sons, Phillip Douglas Edmonds (Tina) and Michael Lee Edmonds (Katrina); her sister, Peggy Sanders (Murray); 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews Mike Miller, Donnie Smitherman, Mickey Smitherman, and Kyle Edmonds; and grandsons Jim Smith, Ryan Sanders, Austyn Driver, and Jon Baird.

Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, employees of Gayfers Hair Salon and Salon Studios, Nick and Lynn Roulaine, Bill and Patsy Etheridge, Alan and Shelia Stamps and all of their camping buddies, Moores Bridge community, special friends Fay Hamner and Sylvia Smith, and the Bethabara Church family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethabara Baptist Church Building Fund.
