Lora Elva (sharpe) smitherman

Mrs. Lora Elva Sharpe Smitherman, 45, 810 Ridgelawn Ave., died of complications following an extended illness at 9:20 p.m. Thursday in Ft. Hamilton Hospital.

She was born Feb. 15, 1908, in Madisonville, Tenn., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Sharpe.  She had attended schools of Madisonville and Etowah, Tenn.  On Nov. 11, 1929, she was married to Millard J. Smitherman at Etowah.

She has lived in Hamilton for 24 years.  A charter member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, she was a faithful and active member of its affiliations.  Having a sympathetic and understanding disposition, she enjoyed a host of friends.

She leaves her husband, Millard J. Smitherman; two daughters, Mrs. Donald McQueen and Mrs. Glenn Allen, both of Hamilton; mother, Mrs. R.P. Sharpe, Maryville, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Homer Webb, Maryville; eight brothers, Robert S. Sharpe, Virgil Sharpe and Frank P. Sharpe, all of Maryville, Reed Sharpe, Guy Sharpe and Horace Sharpe, all of Madisonville, Tenn., Albert Sharpe, Etowah, Tenn., Earl Sharpe, Clarksville, Tenn., and many other relatives and friends.  Her father, R.P. Sharpe, preceded her in death on March 25, 1932.
