jessie loraine (smitherman) stovall 

Loraine Smitherman Stovall, age 85, of Fayetteville, Georgia passed away Febraury 3, 2007.  She is survived by her daughters Linda Kornegay, Dr. Donna Urstadt (Eric), Janan Hogan; son David Stovall; grandchildren Sharon Lewis (David), Robert Kornegay (Holly), Mandy Greenway (Jeff), Brandy Urstadt, Mychia Hogan, Courney Stovall, Kristi Allen; great-grandchildren Emily & Jacob Lewis; Paige Kornegay, Caleigh Hogan; Sisters Jackie Stphens, Anne Staton; brothers Sam Smitherman and Bobby Smitherman.

Loraine Stovall was born in Alabama and spent her early years in Birmingham and Vance.  She graduated from Brookwood High School at age 16.  She married Clarence W. Stovall in 1945, becoming a military wife.  She embraced the traveling military lifestyle fulfilling a dream of living in Europe, the Orient and various areas of the United States.  She moved to the Atlanta area in 1963 and worked at the Atlanta Army Depot and also at the main office for the Small Business Administration in Atlanta.

Ms Stovall retired from the Federal Government  at the GS-13 Level after 30 years of service.  She moved to Fayetteville in 1994, where she continued to be active with The Civitans, her church and family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Partridge, Rev. Dan Wiggins, and Rev. David Gill officiating.

Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 7, 2007 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home, 180 Jeff Davis Drive, Fayetteville, Georgia.
