McPherson, Kan. — Louise Elaine Greiner, 92 years of age, died on Sunday July 31, 2011, at the Cedars in McPherson. She was born to Arthur and Blanche Smitherman on Oct. 5, 1918, in Haviland.

She was married to Albert Greiner at Buffalo, Okla., on June 9, 1939. She was preceded in death by Albert on Dec. 4, 2002, her brother, Ronald Smitherman, and her sister Velma June Banbury.

Louise is survived by her brother, Donald Smitherman, Allenspark, Colo.; children, Judy Tuttle, Grinnell, Janice Parker, McPherson, Dianne Unruh, Greensburg, and Alan Greiner, Kingman; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She taught elementary music in the Haviland Public Schools and later worked as a cosmetologist from her home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Haviland United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in Haviland Cemetery.
