Funeral services for Luther M. Smitherman, 82, Dora, will be held at Martin
Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton on Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at 2:30 p.m., with
Rev. Keith Brakefield officiating. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery in
Jemison, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at Martin
Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, from 5-8 p.m. Smitherman was born on July
14, 1917, in Chilton County, the son of the late Joseph and Daisy Mae
Smitherman. He was a coal miner. He died on Nov. 3, 1999. Survivors include
one daughter, Ritza Spears, Westwood; one step-son, Larry Smith, Utah; three
sons, Terry Smitherman and Jimmy Smitherman, both of Dora, and Roy Smitherman,
Warrior; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
