Another one of the pioneer citizens of this county passed away early Sunday morning, being Mrs. M.M. Smitherman.
She has been in bad health for several months, although nothing serious was thought of health, but a few days ago she apparently made a change for the worse, and died of pneumonia.
At the time of her death she was surrounded by most of her children, except two sons, they being in other states.
Those who survive her are: Luther Smitherman, Mrs. Lee Anderson, Mrs. Walter Barnes, David Smitherman, Ernest Smitherman, Miss Ruth Smitherman and Mrs. Elmer Wilbanks, they being present at the bedside except David and Ernest, but who arrived Tuesday afternoon.
Interment was had in Woodlawn Cemetery Wednesday afternoon under the direction of Undertaker Geo. Dorris.
The family have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends and teh Herald joins in extending condolences.
