Services for Margaret Johnson,
88, of Diboll, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the
Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Mettlen, Bro. Myrton Thompson
and Bro. Walter Futch officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan
Chapel Cemetery in Diboll. Mrs. Johnson was born March 3, 1924 in
Houston County, Texas, the daughter of the late Lillie Pearl
(Childress) and Charlie Sherman Smitherman. She passed away Wednesday,
October 10, 2012 in a local hospital. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and
a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed
being with her family and cooking. She was a member of Grace Baptist
Church and loved going to church. Survivors include her daughter and
son-in-law, Dana and Robert Fenner of Diboll; son, Sheral Johnson of
Diboll; grandsons, Tim Johnson, Torry Fenner and Trance Fenner and wife
Daisy, all of Diboll; great-grandsons, Taylor Franklin and Baxton
Fenner, both of Diboll; and a number of other family members and
friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death
by her husband, Linwood Johnson; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters. Pallbearers
will be Torry Fenner, Trance Fenner, Robert Fenner, Charles Anthony,
Terry Turley, and Myrton Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis
Spivey and Timothy Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
in Mrs. Johnson’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes
Association , Houston Office, 2400 Augusta Dr., Suite 175, Houston,
Texas 77058. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday
evening at Gipson Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at
