Houston – Services for Maudie B Huffman, 85, who died March 1, 2003, at her home in the Una Community, were held 2 pm, March 3, 2003, at Calvert Funeral Home with the Rev. Hoyet Hathcock officiating.

Interment was held at Pleasant Grove Methodist Cemetery.

A native of Fayette, Ala., Ms. Huffman was born to Lee Smitherman and Maggie Glassco.

She married Walter Frazar Huffman in 1940. She was a homemaker and a member of Lawson Chapel Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, William Walter Huffman and his wife, Jeanie, both of New Hope, Thomas Earl Huffman and his wife, Joyce, both of West Point; eight grandchildren, Pam Richter and William Huffman, Jr. both of Talladega, Ala., Jennifer Williamson and Terry Dobbs both of Houston, Jason Huffman of Columbus, Christy Haynes of New Hope and Danny Huffman and Kevin Huffman both of West Point; four sisters, Grace Cox, Hazel Reese and her husband, Jack, all of Prairie, Susie Gregory and her husband, Edward; one brothers, Frank Smitherman of Chicago; and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kevin Huffman, Danny Huffman, Michael Williamson, Doug Dobbs, William Huffman, and Ed Richter. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Evans Huffman, Wayne Wray, Jack Reese, and members of the Lawson Chapel Church of Christ.
