Orbin Jack Smitherman, 68, of 836 O'Connor Drive, died Jan 6, 1992, at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Ken Cheek will officiate with burial in Memory Hill Gardens and Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing.
He served in France during World War II, was retired from Uniroyal Goodrich and had lived in Tuscaloosa for 39 years.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Smitherman, Tuscalooa; two daughters, Sally Ann Caldow and Cathy Joyce Smitherman, both of Tuscaloosa; two sons, Jackie Russell Smitherman and Sammy Nelson Smitherman, both of Tuscaloosa; a sister, Wilda Boyd, Tuscaloosa; a brother, Earl Smitherman, San Francisco; three grandchildren and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Joe Cook, O'Neal Smitherman, Kenney Smitherman, Pete Butler, Rhett Butler, Murray Sanders, Doug Edmonds and Donnie Smitherman,
The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
