Ferguson Smitherman, 90, Rainbow City, who died Thursday, Sept. 6,
2001. The Rev. Charles Fiquett will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral
Home is in charge.
She is survived by her son, the Rev. Don Smitherman and his wife, Peggy Smitherman; grandson, Donny Smitherman; granddaughter, Vanessa Baird and her husband, Larry Baird; four great-grandchildren, Kristi Lynn Mathis, Tara Ann Wright, Jaime Leigh Smitherman and Justin Heath Smitherman; great-great-grandson, Andrew Jesse Mathis; sister, Velma Adams, Birmingham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McCauley’s Chapel Methodist Church, 824 Tabor Road, Gadsden, AL 35904. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Gadsden Health Care and Dr. H.B. Thompson. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon today at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
