patsy gene (smith) howell 

Mrs. "Patsy" Gene Smith Howell, 71, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 13, 2018, at 5:08 A.M. She was at home and surrounded by her loving family as He welcomed her.

Mrs. Patsy was born on September 19, 1946, in the Una Community in Clay County, the daughter of the late Neal Hunter and Mary Elizabeth Smitherman Smith. She graduated from West Point High School in 1964 and was a life-long resident of the Siloam Community. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was a homemaker. She married Randy Z. Howell and they were married for 54 years.

\In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Howell and 2 brothers: Raymond and Rex Smith.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. from Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Una with Reverend Steve Lampkin officiating and assisted by Brother Monte Crosswhite. Burial will follow in Palo Alto Cemetery near West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include Her Husband Randy Z. Howell of West Point, MS; Daughter, Randee "Helen" Howell of West Point; Two Sons, Ronald S. Howell (Wendy) of West Point and Ryan "Shawn" Howell (Connie) of Whiteville, TN; Eight Grandchildren: Justin McVay of West Point, Shane Howell (Meagan) of Houston, Jacob Vowell of West Point, Alaina Howell of West Point, Tanner Howell of Whiteville, TN, Josh Howell of West Point, Jack Bryant of West Point and Jadyn Bryant of West Point and One Great-Grandson: Jace Howell of Houston; Brother, Ray Smith of West Point. Pallbearers will be Larry Lee Brasfield, Justin McVay, Jacob Vowell, Tanner Howell, Josh Howell, and Shane Howell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Her church family at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Brenda Henley, 13660 Baker Road, Prairie, MS 39756 for the continuation of the Great Commission. Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home and Thursday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
