STOKESDALE - Ransom Bynum Pegram, 95, of Wesleyan Arms Retirement Center, formerly of 507 Ferndale Drive, died Saturday at his residence.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at High Point Friends Meeting House, of which he was a member. Burial will be in the meeting house columbarium.

A native of Stokesdale, he owned and operated Pegram-Burton Men's Clothiers for more than 50 years and was active in the Brotherhood Class of the Meeting. He was a World War I veteran, a member of Acacia Masonic Lodge No. 674 AF&AM, the High Point Lions Club, the American Legion and the Southern Seniors Golf Association, and he was formerly a professional baseball player.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Lula Smitherman Pegram; daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Beck of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Dorothy Culler of High Point, Mrs. Elizabeth Walker of Burlington, Mrs. Betty Jean Herring of Boulder, Colo.; 11 grandchildren.

The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Dorothy Culler, 1223 Westwood, from 7-8:30 p.m. today.

Memorial contributions may be made to High Point Friends Meeting, 800 Quaker Lane, High Point, N.C., or to the charity of the donor's choice.
