Mr. Raymond
Jackson Hoots Sr., 79, of Winston-Salem passed away
Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 21,
1921,
in Yadkin County to Maude Taylor and Everett Henry Hoots. Mr. Hoots was
a
member of Enon Baptist Church in East Bend. He was a U.S. Army veteran
of World
War II and a retired driver for Greyhound Bus Lines. Surviving are his
wife,
Mrs. Bertrice Smitherman Hoots of the home; two sons, Michael
Hoots and Raymond J. Hoots Jr.; three grandsons, Matthew Taylor Hoots,
Benjamin
Cleveland Hoots and Kent Blackburn Hoots; and a brother, Daniel Hoots
of
Courtney. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9,
2000, at
Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with the Rev. Floyd Boles
officiating.
Burial will follow in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in East Bend.
