EAST BEND - Mr. Reynolds R.
Hutchens, 86, of 241 Fairground Road died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at
the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
He was born in Yadkin County on Oct. 12, 1915, to Evan and Sarah Smitherman Hutchens.
He was of the Friends faith.
Mr. Hutchens was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Johnson Hutchens, and a son, Wilburn Hutchens. Surviving are two daughters, Freida (Don) Taylor of Atlanta, Ga., and Edna (Larry) Nance of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Nell Bryant of Yadkinville, Betty Wooten of East Bend and Dot Hutchens of Boonville; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001 at the Huff Funeral Home Chapel in East Bend by the Rev. Bobby Choplin. The body will lie in state from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the East Bend Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Wed-nesday evening at the funeral home.
